McDonald's shooting suspect faces federal gun charge
Already facing state felony charges, Sean Costa is now in trouble with the feds.
The U.S. Attorney's office has filed a charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm against Costa, 24, who is accused of firing a shotgun at another customer's car at a west Wichita McDonald's and then participating in a long standoff at a house near Central and Meridian. Costa was arrested along with Melissa Palacios, who is also accused of taking part in the McDonald's incident.
State prison records show that Costa served time for battery and aggravated battery for an incident that occurred on June 27, 2010. The same records show Costa was released three months to the day before the Jan. 9 incident at the McDonald's.
