Clerk thwarts robbery attempt
Wichita police are looking for a man who attempted to rob the neighborhood Walmart near Central and West.
Police Sgt. Bart Brunscheen said the robber approached the clerk and said he had a gun. The clerk told the robber her drawer would not open. Finally, the suspect fled in a mid-size, four-door, charcoal-colored car with alloy wheels.
The suspect is described as an African-American man, 6-feet-1-inch tall with a slender build. He was last seen wearing a light brown Carhartt coat, blue jeans, cornrow braided hair with a white do-rag and a black baseball cap.
