Newman University student group to hold vigil on immigration
The Newman University Hispanic American Leadership Opportunity student organization is hosting a prayer vigil on campus Jan. 25.
The event will support immigration legislation that aids in the path to citizenship.
The vigil will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Dugan-Gorges Conference Center inside the Dugan Library and Campus Center at Newman. The event is free, and the public is welcome.
Sunflower Action, the Wichita Casa De La Semilla, Seed House and the Nomar CDC are also partnering in the vigil, titled "Respect Human Dignity - Keep Families Together."
