Man arrested after crash and chase in west Wichita
A 36-year-old man is facing charges after a traffic accident that led to a chase in west Wichita early Thursday. Lieutenant Doug Nolte said a vehicle ran a stop light at Maple and Ridge Road shortly after midnight, and it hit a second vehicle. An officer saw the crash and chased the vehicle to a neighborhood in the 600 block of North Caddy.
Nolte said the driver refused to come out of the vehicle, and officers used a taser to take him into custody. The man was booked into jail for charges relating to the chase and crash and traffic violations.
The 58-year-old man who was driving the second vehicle was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
