A 35-year-old Wichita man escaped his overturned cement truck with minor injuries, just before the truck was hit by a train. The accident happened at 9:45 a.m. Friday at K-15 and 47th Street South.

Sedgwick County Sheriff's Lieutenant Brad Hoch said the truck was going south on K-15, and it went out of control and overturned while making a right turn onto 47th. The truck ended up against the railroad tracks. Sheriff's Deputy John Scaglione was nearby, and he helped the driver get out through the windsheld before a southbound freight train hit the truck.

The driver was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. The sheriff's office and the Kansas Highway Patrol are investigating the accident .

Traffic was blocked on 47th Street South just west of K-15 for several hours after the crash.
