Hutchinson woman dead after vehicle struck tree
Hutchinson police are investigating a one-vehicle fatal accident.
The accident happened shortly before 6 p.m. Friday in the 1700 block of east 2nd St.
Police said Deborah Anderson was driving east on Second at a high rate of speed when she lost control of her vehicle over a set of railroad tracks, became airborne, then struck a tree head-on.
Anderson was flown by helicopter to Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis, where she later died of her injuries.
There were no other occupants in the vehicle with Anderson at the time of the crash.
Police said Anderson was not wearing a seatbelt.
