Wichita boy dies from crash related injuries at hospital
A weekend crash in northeast Wichita has turned fatal.
The Kansas Highway Patrol said 6-year-old Crisol Hall of Wichita died Sunday from his injuries at Wesley Medical Center. The rollover crash happened about 3:15 p.m. Saturday near the exit ramp to K-96 and Hillside.
Investigators said the GMC Denali was westbound in the right-hand lane when the driver missed the exit. Troopers said the driver, 32-year-old Crystal Ross of Wichita, still attempted to take the exit and nearly struck the exit sign and traveled into the right-hand ditch. Ross tried to steer the SUV back to the left when it skidded and overturned multiple times.
Four people were hurt. Troopers said Ross was in serious condition, but upgraded her to fair condition at Wesley Medical Center.
The passengers, 12-year-old Antwain Thomas and 8-year-old Trillion Ross, both of Wichita, had minor injuries. Troopers said Ross, Thomas and Hall were not buckled up a the time of the accident.
