A police officer escaped crash with minor injuries
An unidentified motorcyclist managed to elude Wichita Police during a high speed chase.
The chase ended when a patrol car crashed just after 10 a.m. Monday on 13th Street near Chautauqua. That's where police were unable to catch a motorcyclist last seen headed eastbound on 13th Street.
The police car wrecked into nearby debris from a street construction project. Speeds reached at least 70 miles per hour at one point. The officer was rushed to Wesley Medical Center.
A 911 emergency dispatcher supervisor said the officer was treated for minor injuries. The officer is out of the hospital. Police are still searching for the motorcyclist.
