3 injured, one critically, in Harvey County crash
A 26-year-old Wichita man was is in critical condition after he was hit by his own pickup in an accident in Harvey County early Wednesday. The accident happened around 6:30 a.m. on Interstate 135 at First Street in Newton.
The Harvey County Sheriff's Office said a 2003 Dodge Ram pickup hit a guardrail, and the driver stepped out to look at the damage. A 2001 Chevrolet Silverado pickup then struck the Ram and pushed it into the driver.
Both drivers were taken to Wichita hospitals. The 26-year-old driver of the Ram had critical injuries and the 61-year-old driver of the Silverado was in serious condition. A passenger in the Silverado was treated for minor injuries at Newton Medical Center. Their names have not been released.
