An 88-year-old Manhattan woman was killed in a crash in Riley County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol said Betty Clark's van was hit by a car at Tuttle Creek Boulevard and South Dam Road in Manhattan around 4:45 p.m. Saturday. Clark was airlifted to a Topeka hospital, where she later died.

The 19-year-old man driving the car was not hurt. His car was destroyed after it caught on fire in the wreck.

In Decatur County, an accident just before midnight Saturday killed a Colorado man and injured a passenger.

The KHP said Gordon Gibson, 23, left the roadway as he drove southbound on K-123, just south of Leoville. When he tried to steer the car back onto the road, it flipped and rolled, coming to rest on its right side.

Gordon Gibson was killed in the wreck. His passenger, Parker Gibson, 22, was hurt in the crash. Both men are from Florence, Colo.
