Law enforcement searching for El Dorado shooting suspect
A man was shot in the head in El Dorado, and police are searching for the man with the gun. The 19-year-old man is in critical condition at Wesley Medical Center.
His name has not been released. He was shot once in the forehead. El Dorado Police Chief Tom Boren said the shooting occurred in the 400 block of North Alleghany around 3 a.m.
"Some type of a disturbance broke out and a black male shot one of the residents of that dwelling, and then left the scene in a silver Lexus," said Boren.
The suspect is a man from Wichita who goes by the nickname of "Sneak" or "Sneak-A-Peak." The man is 6-feet-1-inch or 6-feet-2-inches tall, wearing a dark-colored hoody sweatshirt.
"Witnesses say he appeared to have a fresh sore or minor wound to the neck, and a tattoo on the left side of his neck," said Boren.
An Augusta Public Safety Officer spotted the silver Lexus he was in, but lost it during a chase near Douglas. The four-door Lexus has a license tag of 456-FAR.
"We do know the individual was armed with a handgun. Not knowing what the full story is, we're asking the public not to approach the vehicle. They should report it to 911 or call the El Dorado Crime Stoppers Tipline at 316-321-1080," Boren said.
A white man and white woman were in the car with the gunman. Boren said the man who was shot did not live at the Alleghany address, but he is from El Dorado.
"The incident appears to have been unprovoked and no motive has been established for the shooting," Boren said.
