Iowa man hurt after crash in Butler County
Falling asleep at the wheel left an Iowa man in a Wichita hospital with potentially critical injuries.
The Kansas Highway Patrol said 35-year-old Carlos Spencer of Iowa City was taken to Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis for treatment late Sunday night. Troopers said Spencer was westbound on US-54. He fell asleep and lost control of the 2010 Nissan Frontier. The truck went into a ditch and struck a bridge railing.
The crash happened about a mile west of Haverhill Road in Butler County.
