A Wichita man will be prosecuted in Sedgwick County for a series of alleged vehicle thefts and a manhunt in Harvey County.

Jack Stanley, 35, was arrested Wednesday in Harvey County after a long footchase and search that included canine units. Stanley was injured by a shotgun blast from a vehicle's owner earlier in the day. He has since been released from the hospital and taken to jail.

Prosecutors from Harvey and Sedgwick Counties announced their decision on Friday to transfer the case.

A check of state records shows that Stanley has a long criminal history dating back at least to 1998, involving drugs, burglary and theft.

Harvey County officials say a second suspect in Wednesday's chase remains on the loose.
