WSU basketball greats still feel good about Shockers
There were familiar names honored by the Wichita State University Alumni Association.
Former Shockers Cliff Levingston, Cleo Littleton, Antoine Carr, Xavier McDaniel and Dave Stallworth had their numbers retired and hung at the top of the rafters of Charles Koch Arena. It was part of the centennial celebration during the 2013 WSU Distinguished Alumni Speakers rise and shine tip-off breakfast at the Marcus Welcome Center Friday morning.
"It feels good anytime you can come back and people can remember what you did and be excited about that," McDaniel said.
"It is great to be back home, obviously, for me," Carr said. "It is a chance for me to see my mom and see all my good friends from Wichita Heights, so I feel good about that."
The current Shocker basketball team takes on Missouri State at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Koch Arena.
