KDHE seeks public comment to cleanup contamination site in Wichita

There's a chance for Wichita residents to sound off about cleaning up a contamination site.

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment will take public comments about the former Unocal Chemical Distribution Facility, located at 2100 East 37th Street North. A session to talk about the Draft Corrective Action Decision is set for Tuesday, March 5 at 7 p.m. at the Environmental Health Office, located in the 1900 block of East Ninth Street in Wichita.
 
The Draft CAD is also available for the public to review online at KDHE’s website, www.kdheks.gov/remedial/site_restoration/unocal.html, at the KDHE central office location in Topeka at 1000 SW Jackson Street and at the Wichita Department of Public Works - Office of Environmental Health, 1900 E. Ninth Street. 
 
The public comment period is Feb. 11 through March 12.
