Sheriff describes how murderer escaped
SALINA, Kan. (AP) Authorities are blaming human error for this week's escape of a convicted killer who walked out of the Saline County Jail on the eve of his sentencing.
Antonio Brown walked out of a holding cell on Monday after it was inadvertently opened and then walked through an open garage door. Authorities said anyone with information about his whereabouts should call 911.
Saline County Sheriff Glen Kochanowski told KWCH 12 News that the jail is understaffed, and he believes that had something to do with the escape.
Brown was due to be sentenced for the death of Salina toddler Clayden Urbanek, his girlfriend's child.
