Young Wichita boy placed in protective custody
A 5-year-old Wichita boy was placed in protective custody after he went to school and complained of pain after a spanking.
Lieutenant Jeff Weible of the Exploited and Missing Child Unit said the boy lives in south Wichita but goes to school in Derby. He reported the pain to a teacher on Tuesday and school officials contacted police, and the boy was found to have visible injuries.
Weible said a 28-year-old woman described as a friend of the boy's family was arrested, and EMCU is continuing its investigation.
