Police looking for man who threw hammer in game ticket dispute
Wichita police are looking for a 28-year-old man who threw a hammer during a dispute over a game ticket at a west side convenience store. Lieutenant Doug Nolte said the man went to a Valero store at 731 North Ridge Road on Wednesday to cash a ticket from a gaming machine, but the machine declared the ticket to be invalid.
Nolte said the store called the machine's owner, a 49-year-old man who went to the store to check the ticket. An argument broke out between the two men , and the ticket-holder went to his car and got a hammer and threatened the machine owner. As he left, he threw the hammer at the machine owner's car and busted a back window. No one was hurt.
Nolte said police are looking for the ticket-holder and another 28-year-old man who left the scene.
