Winter Storm Warning includes Wichita, south central Kansas

Wichita and Sedgwick County are included in a Winter Storm Warning issued for Wednesday and Thursday from the National Weather Service. 

The warning will start at 6 a.m. Wednesday and run through 6 p.m. Thursday. 

Snow and sleet accumulations are expected to range between 1-6 inches over south central Kansas. Ice accumulations over 1/4-inch are possible south of Highway 54. 

Storm Team 12's forecast expects temperatures to top out at 32 Wednesday. Thursday's high temperature will be 34. Gusty winds are also anticipated with the storm. 

Several other counties are in the warning, including: Russell, Lincoln, Barton, Ellsworth, Rice, McPherson, Reno, Harvey, Kingman, Harper and Sumner. 

Travel is expected to be hazardous.
