Wichita area motorists find snow and sleet from winter storm challenging.

Sedgwick County 911 Dispatchers handled several hundred calls between nine o'clock this morning through the noon hour about traffic accidents.

A dispatcher estimated that at least 180 non-injury crashes, 126 accidents with injury and 90 hit and run crashes occurred on snow packed and icy streets.

She said the numbers do not count motorists involved with accidents after the Emergency Accident Reporting Plan went into effect just after nine o'clock this morning.

E.A.R.P. remains in effect for all of Wichita and Sedgwick County. Go to the City of Wichita website at www.wichita.gov/CityOfWichita/Templates/Form.aspx to download a form.
