Seven Democrats are among 50 state lawmakers who are introducing a bill designed to keep federal authorities from taking guns from the hands of legal owners in Kansas.

House Bill 2199 would authorize the state's law enforcement officers to arrest and prosecute any outside entity that tries to regulate or confiscate guns in Kansas. Secretary of State Kris Kobach told the Wichita Eagle the bill, if passed, would likely face court challenges, possibly in the Supreme Court.
