Auto shop roof collapses in Cheney
A 130-foot round-top roof collapsed under the weight of heavy snow in Cheney.
It happened about 9:30 a.m. between 1st Street and Santa Fe on Jefferson.
"The roof collapse may have happened earlier, but that's when someone reported it," Fire Chief Brad Ewy said.
"The loss may be six or 10 vehicles in there," Ewy said. "We got all the gas shut off, the building is clear and there's an add-on to the building. It looks like they could still work in there, and we left the heat on in there."
A damage estimate was not available. It appears the building will be a total loss. The owner was on the way to check out the damage.
There were no reports of any injuries.
