Sedgwick County election office to stay open later
The Sedgwick County Election Office is staying open later, along with election offices in two dozen other counties, because of the winter storm that has been affecting the state. Kansas secretary of state Kris Kobach ordered the election offices to stay open until 7 p.m. Monday, to give voters an opportunity to vote in advance in case the winter storm causes problems for polling places on Tuesday.
Sedgwick County election officials say one location, the Independent Living Center, will be closed on Tuesday because of weather conditions, and it will not be available as a polling place.
Wichita voters will cast ballots in city council districts 3, 4 and 6, in south and northwest areas of the city. The top two candidates in each race will go on to the general election on April 2.
