In advance of heavy and blowing snow in Hutchinson, the Hutchinson Police Department has placed the emergency accident reporting plan into effect.

A spokesman said those involved in an accident can exchange information with the other driver - including name, address, driver's license, vehicle license plate info and insurance information.

Drivers then must fill out an emergency reporting form and turn it into the police department within three days. The form is available at Kwik Shop locations at Fourth and K-61, Fifth and Monroe, 27th and Main, 30th and Lorraine or at the Pic Quik at Fourth and Plum.

The police department will still make reports on injury accidents, accidents involving alcohol use by a driver and accidents where one or both of the vehicles have to be towed from the scene.
