The National Weather Service issued a statement shortly after 4 a.m. Tuesday saying the dangerous winter storm will slowly diminish this morning.

The Winter Storm Warming remains in effect until 12 p.m. Sustained winds from the north are expected to continue at 15 to 25 mph with 30 mph gusts.

The winds are expected to cause significant blowing and drifting of snow that will reduce visibility and make travel difficult. Drivers should be prepared to encounter snow drifts of 3 feet or deeper.
