USBC picks Wichita for 2019 women's championship
The United States Bowling Congress will celebrate its 100th Women's Championship in Wichita.
Go Wichita announced the event will be held from April to June 2019. It is anticipated to bring more than 30,000 bowlers to the city. The championship is predicted to bring about $14 million in revenue to Wichita.
"The USBC Women's Championships will feature a variety of venues and locations in the coming years," said USBC Executive Director Stu Upson on the organization's website. "The change to four-person teams has the potential to generate a new audience for this event, and we hope the excitement of these city selections will help the tournament grow."
Go Wichita said the city was selected because of its central location and tradition. Wichita hosted the 2004 WIBC championships.
The event will be held at Northrock Lanes and Thunderbird Bowl.
