Woman robbed of car during late night run to liquor store
A 26-year-old woman had her vehicle stolen during a late night errand.
Wichita Police Sgt. Bart Brunscheen said the woman, her 4-year-old son and an acquaintance known as "Psycho Mike" went to a liquor store at Lincoln and Woodlawn around 10:40 p.m. Saturday.
When the woman came out of the store, "Psycho Mike" was in the driver's seat. Armed with a hatchet, he threatened to kill the woman if her and the 4-year-old didn't get out of the vehicle.
Police found "Psycho Mike" slumped over the steering wheel inside the stolen vehicle near Pawnee and I-135 early Sunday morning. He was arrested on suspicion of aggravated robbery and aggravated assault.
The woman and the child were not hurt.
