Police arrest man after south Wichita robbery
Wichita Police searched a south Wichita neighborhood and found a 21-year-old man hiding in a basement after a robbery of a Family Dollar store.
Lieutenant Joe Schroeder said citizens called 911 around 8 p.m. Sunday to report seeing suspicious activity in the Family Dollar store at 814 South Woodlawn. Officers went into the store, and the robber ran out a back door. After a search of the area, the man was found hiding in a basement for a four-plex apartment building in the 800 block of South San Pablo.
Schroeder said the robber had a gun, but no one was hurt in the robbery. Police have identified several other persons of interest.
Schroeder said detectives are checking to see if the 21-year-old man and the others might be responsible for similar robberies that have happened recently at Family Dollar and Dollar General stores in Wichita.
