The state has shut down 10 Taco Tico restaurants in Kansas for failing to pay state sales tax.

Taco Tico has six locations in Wichita, and the other restaurants were closed in Derby, Arkansas City, Dodge City, and Topeka. The company's website lists 20 locations around the state.

Our news partners at KWCH 12 quote state officials who say they have seized all known assets of the company in Kansas, including restaurants and bank accounts. Two warrants have been issued claiming the company failed to pay $434,939.23.

The Associated Press is reporting that the company's owner, Ajax International Group, will try to reopen the restaurants. Restaurants in Augusta, Newton and El Dorado are not corporate restaurants, and are still open.
