Burglar steals family dog
The Sedgwick County sheriff's office is investigating a burglary where a homeowner lost a lot of property, including a red pitbull dog.
The home is located in the 3400 block of South 231st Street West, which is near Lake Afton. The break-in happened some time Tuesday morning.
Sheriff's Lt. David Mattingly said the homeowner also lost a 40-in. flat-panel television, jewelry, bank cards and two firearms. The loss is estimated at more than $19,000, primarily in jewelry.
There was no information about witnesses or suspects.
