Wichita police arrested a 34-year-old man in connection with Tuesday's fatal crash that ended a chase with a stolen truck.

The 34 year old was speeding away from officers when he crashed the truck into another vehicle at Harry and Wichita. A 38-year-old man in the other vehicle was killed, and police have not released his name.

The suspect in the chase was released from a hospital late Wednesday and booked into jail. Police Chief Norman Williams said the man was involved in a previous chase with officers in late December, when he tried to get away in a stolen Corvette near Harry and Rock Road. It is not known how long he was in jail after that Dec. 26 incident.

Williams said the stolen truck in Tuesday's incident had a license tag that was from a stolen Honda, and the Honda was recovered in the 3800 block of South Broadway.  The chief said officers were using red lights and sirens during the chase, and the crash happened only about a minute after the chase began.

The Kansas Highway Patrol is assisting with the investigation.
