Armed robbers escape with pair of pants
Police say a man and woman, each armed with a handgun, confronted 5 people in an east Wichita motel room early Wednesday. They got away with a pair of pants from one of the victims.
Lieutenant Doug Nolte said the robbery happened shortly before 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Days Inn in the 7300 block of East Kellogg. He said the man and woman were invited into a room, then they kicked open a locked door in the room and held 5 people at gunpoint. The people in the room were a 30-year-old man, three women, ages 22, 19 and 16, and a 1-year-old boy.
Nolte said the two visitors asked about a cell phone, and one of them demanded that the 30-year-old man take off his pants. The two then left with the pants, and no one was hurt.
The man was described as an African American man around 6 feet 2 and 200 pounds, around 20 to 25 years of age, wearing a black shirt with blue jeans. He may have the nickname of "Trip." The woman was African American, in her early 20's, around 5 feet 6 inches tall and 220 pounds, with a brown coat, white shirt and blue jeans, and she was carrying a silver revolver.
