Zoo receives grant to help schools pay for buses
The Sedgwick County Zoo received a $25,000 grant from the Dwayne and Velma Wallace Foundation to help schools offset the cost of using bus services to visit the zoo.
The program will reimburse schools up to $400 per bus on a first-come, first-serve basis.
In order for schools to receive the funding, they must show proper documentation with the zoo, and complete the required education program during their field trip to the zoo.
