Change your clocks and batteries for daylight saving
Daylight Saving Time is almost here. Don’t forget to set your clocks an hour forward at 2 a.m. Sunday.
Fire officials say Daylight Saving Time is also a good opportunity to get in the habit of changing your batteries. Smoke alarm and weather radio batteries should be changed at least twice a year, and Daylight Saving is the perfect time to change them.
“When you change your clocks, change your batteries," Wichita Fire Department Captain Stuart Bevis said.
Bevis said investigations into several fire deaths in 2011 and 2012 revealed the homes had smoke detectors, but they did not have working batteries in them.
