Police say chase suspect still believed to be on the loose
Wichita police are still looking for the driver of a car who jumped into a pond to get away after a chase last Friday morning. Officers began chasing a car for traffic violations around 2:30 a.m. at 31st Street South and Hiram, and the chase ended at 35th and Gold when the car crashed through a fence and the driver jumped out.
Police and rescue crews searched the pond throughout the day Friday, but nothing was found. Crews were planning one last look at the pond area on Monday.
The man is wanted for traffic violations related to the chase. Officers questioned two other people who were inside the man's car, but they are not facing charges at this point.
