Man arrested for incidents with gun & chainsaw
Wichita police have a 30-year-old man in custody for two separate incidents Sunday evening involving a gun and a chainsaw.
Lieutenant Doug Nolte said the man got into a dispute with a 17-year-old boy around 6 p.m. at a home in the 2000 block of South Topeka. During the dispute, the man pointed a gun at the teenager and threatened him, and he also pointed a gun at a 33-year-old woman.
The man fired several shots as he left. Witnesses reported the shots were fired into the air. No one was hurt.
The man later went to a home he shares with his 36-year-old girlfriend in the 2300 block of South Washington. Nolte said the man and the girlfriend got into a struggle over her cellphone.
The man pushed the woman onto a couch, then grabbed a chainsaw that was next to the couch and started it. He chased the woman into a bedroom with the chainsaw, but she was not hurt.
Police were called to the home, and they took the man into custody for aggravated assault and domestic violence charges.
