Gunman robs west Wichita convenience store
Wichita Police are investigating an early morning armed robbery at a west Wichita convenience store.
A man walked into a Quik Trip at 324 South West Street just before 5:30 a.m. Tuesday. Lieutenant Michael Hennessy said the man put a note on the counter demanding money, and indicating he had a gun. Store employees did not see a weapon.
A clerk took money out of the register and gave it to the robber, and he left by the back door. No one was hurt.
The robber was described as a white male around 50 years old, 5-feet-10-inches tall and 180 pounds, wearing a long overcoat. He was seen riding to the southeast on a 10-speed bicycle.
