Concerned citizens speak out at Wichita BOE meeting
Revamping Southeast High School or building a completely new high school is a dilemma on the minds of those concerned about the school's future.
Citizens have been voicing their opinions on both sides. Concerned parent Randy Thon is all for the new high school, and thinks the right decision will be made in the end.
"It's for the children. I understand the community concerns, but I think and I feel in the long run this will be the best opportunity for our children to have this new facility, " Thon said.
Southeast graduate Reuben Eckles, of Wichita, wants community needs to be taken into consideration.
"I'm truly hoping that the school board will have talks with the community to hear our concerns and again get honest answers, ones that we can depend upon when it comes down to the final answer," Eckles said.
No decision was made at Monday night's board meeting.
