Spring Break is right around the corner. It can be a joyous time for students out of school, but for others finding lunch is a chore.

Volunteers are collecting donations for box lunches and for extra food  (individual fruit & pudding cups, fruit roll-ups, wrapped snack bars, small school supplies).

"We realize that children need to eat every day," Samaritan project coordinator Sally Fahrenthold said. "There's something compelling knowing that a child is hungry, we really need to extend our tables and help to be sure that their nutritional needs and their ability to learn, grow and play are met."

Donations can be sent Thursday through next Wednesday  to Partners for Wichita, 945 North Waco, designated to the 'Filling the gap for lunches for kids' program.
