Shots fired at occupied vehicle in Chanute
Police in Chanute arrested a man for firing gunshots at two different locations, including at a vehicle that was occupied by a 9-year-old boy.
Joey Herndon, 49, is also accused of using a rifle to fire at a house. One bullet struck the vehicle in which the boy was riding, but no one was hurt. Herngon was picked up on Thursday.
In a press release, Chanute Police did not comment on a motive for Herndon's actions.
