Early morning traffic stop turns into dangerous pursuit
An early morning traffic stop turned into a dangerous pursuit for Wichita police.
Sergeant Bruce Watts says officers were attempting to stop a silver Dodge Ram in the 600 block of North Topeka around 5 a.m. Saturday when he began to elude officers.
"The vehicle ended up going the wrong way on Second Street about 90 mph, so the supervisor terminated the chase," Watts said.
A short time later, the man crashed into some vehicles near 9th and Chautauqua, but kept going.
The man was caught in the 2900 block of East Mossman after he broke into his ex-girlfriend's house. He was booked into jail on charges of evading and eluding, hit and run, driving under the influence and other traffic charges.
No one was hurt in the pursuit and collisions.
