For the first time, Shocker women are dancing
Jody Adams' Wichita State Shockers got it done in Lake Charles, Mo., defeating Illinois State in the final of the Missouri Valley Conference women's tournament, 69-65.
The victory adds to the season's other great accomplishment - Wichita State's first-ever conference championship. The Shockers also earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, another first.
The tournament field will be announced Monday evening. ESPN will carry the Women's Tournament selection show beginning at 6 p.m.
