Citizen reports boys playing alone near a busy street
A citizen was worried after seeing three little boys playing by themselves near a busy street in 38-degree weather.
Wichita Police officers found the boys, 3, 6 and 7-years-old, playing in the 1000 block of North Oliver. Then, they went looking for the 26-year-old mother.
"They located a residence in the 900 block of North Pershing where they were able to locate the child's mother, who was passed out in the basement of the residence," said Lt. Joe Schroeder.
An officer's report did not say specifically what the woman had been doing, but alcohol was indicated.
The boys were taken into police protective custody.
