Wichita State women to play Texas A&M in NCAA tournament
One day after winning their first ever Missouri Valley Conference championship, the Wichita State women's basketball team found out who they will play in the NCAA tournament.
A crowd of supporters gathered at the Champions Club inside Koch Arena Monday evening to hear the announcement. When their name flashed across the television screen, a huge round of applause went up from the supporters.
The Lady Shocks are the No. 14 seed in the Norfolk region, and will play No. 3 Texas A&M on Saturday in College Station, Texas.
"There will be similarities in some ways, differences in others. But we will put our student-athletes in the best position to compete," said WSU head coach Jody Adams.
