The Wichita Wings indoor soccer team is up for sale.

A news release on its website Tuesday morning indicated, "Hartman Sports has initiated the process of seeking a new ownership group for the Wichita Wings to ensure the continuation of the popular Major Indoor Soccer League franchise."

The timing of the announcement coincides with an internal review within the overall Hartman Group of companies, and is designed to shift the ownership to a group that can dedicate its primary focus and resources toward the operation of the team.

Owner Wink Hartman acquired the rights to a MISL franchise in 2010 and resurrected the Wichita Wings brand in the 2011-2012 MISL season. The team is working in conjunction with the league office to have the new ownership group in place prior to finalization of the 2013-2014 MISL alignment in early summer.
