Man with brass knuckles tries to rob woman in wheelchair
A man's attempt to rob a woman in a wheelchair was thwarted by a helpful citizen.
The 45-year-old man attacked the woman around 9 p.m. Monday in the 600 block of North Topeka.
"He came up to our victim with what we believe were a pair of brass knuckles, struck her in the knee, demanding that he get all her property," said Wichita Police Lt. Doug Nolte.
Nolte said a 33-year-old man, believed to be the woman's boyfriend, wrestled the potential robber to the ground.
"During that intervention, the suspect put something in his mouth. We believe it was some sort of narcotic drug," Nolte said.
The suspect was taken to the hospital and arrested.
