Man stable after shooting in northeast Wichita

46 year old shot in leg

WICHITA, Kan. -
Police are trying to find a suspect after a shooting in northeast Wichita.
 
Police Sgt. Don Story said officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 1700 block of N Lorraine at around 11 Thursday morning. Emergency crews took a 46-year-old man to a hospital for a gunshot wound to his leg.
 
Witnesses told police two men had been arguing in the front yard of a home near 16th St N and Lorraine, when the argument escalated into violence.
 

 

The man who was shot was in stable condition as of noon Thursday, and police said they are looking for a certain suspect. Sgt. Story said the public is not in danger.
