WICHITA, Kan. -
The Second Annual Wingnuts Community Benefit Concert is this Saturday at Lawrence Dumont Stadium.
Gates open at 4:30 for the concert with headliners BIlly Currington and Chris Jansen and with local acts opening the show. Wingnuts co-owner Nate Robertson tells KFDI News that the concert is really about the community.
"If you can't sell community, how can you be part of one?" says Robertson. "What we're trying to do as the Wingnuts organization is really try to connect that community through an event. The concert is great, the talent is unbelievable, but it was really about raising money for a lot of great causes."
50 local non-profit groups sold tickets for the concert and were able to keep 50% of the profits from those sales. This is the second year for the concert.
Parking will be $5 at Lawrence Dumont Stadium. A live DJ will perform until 5 p.m. with local act Bryson Michael Band takes the stage at 5.
They will be followed by the Adam Capps Band, who are returning for a second year. Chris Janson will take the stage at 7 p.m.
Billy Currington will finish out the show.
