KFDI Honored For Excellence in Severe Weather and Breaking News Coverage
Wichita, Kan. — KFDI-FM and members of its news team were recognized by The Kansas Association of Broadcasters with three Awards of Excellence on August 19.
KFDI and its news team received awards for:
Best Large Market Complete Severe Weather Coverage: George Lawson, John Wright, Marc LaVoie, Matthew Harding, Jacob Weston and Kyle McCaskey
Best Large Market Spot News Coverage: Marc LaVoie, “McConnell AFB KC-46A Announcement”
Honorable Mention Large Market Complete Newscast: Dan Dillon and John Wright, “Wichita Gas Leak”

Today’s KFDI-FM 101.3 is one of six stations serving the Wichita market that are owned by Journal Broadcast Group.
The awards will be presented during the annual KAB convention on October 21 in Manhattan, Kan.
