Wichita Police have identified a man who died following a crash between a motorcycle and pickup truck late Thursday afternoon.
It happened shortly before 5 p.m. on South Seneca, at Mona Street, a short distance north of 55th Street South. Police say 34-year-old Shane Scranton was northbound on Seneca on a motorcycle, when a southbound pickup truck turned left onto Mona, right in front of Scranton.
His motorcycle hit the side of the truck causing critical injuries. Scranton died at the scene.
No one in the truck was hurt. The accident is still under investigation and the case will be presented to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office, which will decide if any charges will be filed.
Scranton is the 27 traffic fatality in Wichita so far in 2018.
